Rev. Aracelis Vázquez Haye is a support pastor at the Passion Center, where she collaborates with Rev. Dr. Liz Ríos to innovate and create new, safe faith spaces on the digital frontier. As an ordained American Baptist minister, certified transformational life coach, grief educator, and community organizer, Aracelis brings a rich and diverse background to her role. She has served in various capacities, including associate pastor, university administrator, college chaplain, and elected public official.
In addition to her work at the Passion Center, Aracelis co-leads the Púlpito Fellows initiative also alongside Dr. Liz Ríos. The program is a Compelling Preaching grant funded by the Lilly Foundation in partnership with Urban Strategies. She is passionate about ensuring everyone, especially those on the margins, has access to the recognition, validation, and resources needed to thrive. Aracelis is committed to cultivating inclusive environments that foster learning, healing, and transformation, with a deep respect for the diverse experiences of individuals. As a teacher, preacher, coach, and community organizer, she empowers individuals and faith communities to embrace spiritual resilience, liberating theological perspectives, and a commitment to systemic change.
Aracelis has taught at Yale University’s Youth Ministry Institute, St. John’s University (NYC), Connecticut College, Three Rivers Community College, and through the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University, a Master’s in Education (Higher Education Administration) from The Loyola University of Chicago, and a Master of Divinity from Yale University.
